Audi A8 Crowned in Chauffeur Car of the Year Awards

The Chauffeur Car of the Year Awards 2011 has awarded the Audi A8L TDi as the best in its class on behalf of the UK’s chauffeur industry.

Judges were faced with the ultimate challenge as the £50,000 to £100,000 category of the awards shortlisted both the Audi A8 and BMW 7-Series for the crown. Both cars offer  specially designed chauffeur programmes along with true quality and space. Ultimately, the Audi Quattro system gave the vehicle extra points and was awarded as The Chauffeur Car of the Year 2011.

The Audi A8L was judged against other vehicles in the same price bracket such as the Lexus LS600hL and Jaguar XJL. In 2010, the BMW 730Ld took the prestigious award.

Paul Gibson, editor of thechauffeur.com commented; “We had an incredible challenge on our hands this year deciding the winner of this category. The A8 simply offers chauffeurs the whole package – a great chauffeur programme, massive amount of luggage and passenger space and outstanding fuel economy.’

He added; “As many chauffeur businesses suffered during the snowy weather over the last few years, the quattro system makes sure that the wheels continue to turn, when other  companies may find themselves stranded. This is what set the A8 apart from its competitors in this  category.’

The Chauffeur Car of the Year Awards are run by industry online magazine www.thechauffeur.com were launched in 2005. The awards set out to discover and crown the best vehicles to suit the hire and reward chauffeur market in the UK in a number of categories.

Other categories in The Chauffeur Car of the Year Awards saw the Hyundai i800 Automatic and BMW 5GT both recognised as best in their class.

BMW 7 Series long wheelbase wins award
